Colleagues, I write to congratulate you for being elected as MISA Zambia National Governing Council (NGC) members.
I am sure you shall deliver as I have personally trusted the capacity of each one of you to do so.
I am also assuring you of my relentless support and backing to ensure that you even do better than what we did.
As we face the 2011 general elections, you should commit yourselves to the freedom of the human spirit and not to political parties.
Contribute to having a Zambia which will be a haven where people can exchange words without suspecting ill-will; where we can allow the freedom of expression to reach high levels in order to serve the poor and disadvantaged in communities.
For me, the battle is closed. I am thankful to all the members for the deliberations, laughter and fights we fought hand in hand.
I found a family to which loins are connected. I will go down the grave knowing we fought for a cause worth not only being imprisoned for but also dying for.
Thanks very much and Bye!!!
Last Friday, the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia ushered in office a new board which comprises five elected board members and two co-opted members from the accounting and legal professions.
The new board was elected during the MISA Zambia Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Garden House Hotel in Lusaka yesterday.
This followed the organisation’s adoption of proposed constitutional amendments that included a reduction in the number of board members, inclusion of other professions on the board and an increase by one year to the tenure of office for the NGC from the previous two years.
The previous board had nine elective NGC positions all eligible to media personnel and an office term of two years.
Daniel Sikazwe who is Director of a private owned communications company African Passions is new Chairperson.
Other elected members as Nalumino Nalumino who is the Station Manager for Radio Maranatha based in Kabwe as its new Vice Chairperson.
