Confusion reigned in Lusaka today, (16th June, 2010) after MMD cadres blocked freedom way to signify the triumphant entry of their Acting provincial Chairperson, William Banda.
Several cadres from various parts of the Province had been trooped to Lusaka’s Plaza one Cinema for the launch of the mobilization plan dubbed thirty-twenty-four operation.
And addressing the cadres Mr. Banda warned the opposition to desist from unwarranted attacks on President Rupiah Banda.
He said the people of Zambia must continue supporting the MMD because it is the only party founded on tenets of democracy despite negative publicity by some sections of the media in the country.
And the Zambia police has warned the MMD cadres who blocked part of Lusakas Cha Cha Cha road of stern action if they attempt to block the road again.
Police Spokesperson Bonny Kapeso tells Muvi TV News that police will not allow the situation to repeat itself.
Mr. Kapeso says there is need for the suspected cadres to respect the law adding that no one will be allowed to hold any meeting without a police permit.
