As Zambians prepare to go to the polls in 2011 for the general elections, a new party has been launched making it more than 30 political groupings to be formed in the country since the country's independence from Britain.
The party, known as the Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) is headed by Luena constituency in Western Province of Zambia, Independent Member of Parliament (MP) Charles Milupi
In a dramatic turn of events, the former Parliamentary Accounts Committee Chairperson also resigned from the Zambian parliament to facilitate for a by-election, which many local commentators have termed, as an uncalled for.
Speaking at the launch in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, Mr. Milupi declared that his party will offer alternative policies and leadership to the people.
