The suspensions of the three Zambia Union of Journalists (ZUJ) branch chairpersons at the Government run, Times of Zambia have been lifted with immediate effect.
The branch officials who were suspended last week were delphine zulu (Lusaka branch chairperson), Stembridge Musefwe (Ndola branch chairperson) and Shamaoma Musonda (Kitwe branch chairperson).
Management this afternoon (Monday) reinstated the affected officials unconditionally following a tripartite meeting between government, times printpak management and the ZUJ officials.
The meeting at which the lifting of suspensions was announced, was chaired by Labour Minister, Austin Liato flanked by his deputy Simon Kachimba and was also attended by mr phiri and the company’s financial manager Derrick Bwalya.
Others in attendance were ZUJ president Melody Mwala, Lusaka branch chairperson delphin zulu, branch secretary Nebert Mulenga, and trustee gilbert kaimana.
The labour commissioner Noah Siansimuna and his assistant Venus Seti also attended the meeting held at the minister’s office.
